On the Bright Side

Earlier this evening, I took this picture in the parking lot of Home Depot, my go-to spot for a great sky shot.

Yes, I’m serious.

I walked through the garden center entrance and the young man working there must have seen me taking pictures and asked what I was taking pictures of.

I told him I was taking pictures of the sky and he agreed that it was a beautiful sky.

When I came back to check out with my watering can (more on this below), I told the guy that I always see the prettiest skies from this parking lot.  Without missing a beat, he whipped out his phone to show me some photos he had taken of neat skies while at work.

See, I’m not crazy.  This Home Depot really does have an exceptional vantage point for sky picture-taking.

Now, about that watering can.  Living on the third floor of an apartment building, I do not have access to a hose with which to water my container garden.  I also do not own a large vessel to transport water from my sink/bathtub to my deck.

So, for the past two months, I have been using this dinky Tupperware container to water my plants.  I had to make approximately 95 trips from my sink/bathtub to my deck every time my plants needed watering.  Needless to say, this was sucking some of the fun out of having a garden.

Today, I FINALLY had the sense to purchase a watering can.   And, miraculously, I was able to water my plants in 1 trip from the bathtub/sink.

And I made a friend at Home Depot.

And I’m not crazy.

Well…at least I’m not alone in my obsession with the skies.

As I watered my garden, I watched these skies unfold.

I love skies.

Sigh.

Heaven?

Bizarre cloud formation.

Man, I’m hooked.

But, on bright side, I’m not the only one.

Y’all come back,

Sugarlump

  1. Beautiful photos, and I also have a favorite parking lot for my sky shots. It’s good to know there are others who do the same!

  2. Eons ago I worked at a craft store located in a plaza. Standing at the cash register I would look out the glass windows and marvel at how incredible the sunsets looked from there.
