Two days ago, there was a very peculiar sequence of weather in Nashville. I had gone home on my lunch hour around 3:00 PM and decided to take a picture of these interesting clouds.
As I left my office around 6:00 PM, I knew I was in trouble when I saw this scene looming overhead.
This was how I found the skies after I arrived home and looked out from my deck.
After a few minutes of intense rain, the sun reappeared.
The colors in the sky deepened as the sun set.
We had a lovely rainbow to the East, opposite the sunset.
The colors became more and more vivid during the next few minutes.
And then the clouds began to thicken again.
And the color started to fade from the clouds.
And then they went gray and poofy.
And then a death cloud appeared.
Yikes.
This all happened over the course of about 5 hours. I’m not pullin’ your leg, either.
I even double checked the time stamps on my photos to confirm that I’m not losing my mind. Well……at least to confirm that these photos were all taken on the same day.

wow! I used to live in East Tennessee, and I loved when the thunder and lightning storms would come through. Great photos!!
thanks! I love the storms, too, as long as there isn’t hail or tornados!
